How it works

Three steps, no paperwork from us

1

Get your quote

Come in for your appointment. We examine you, explain what you need, and you leave the same day with a written, itemised quote. Nothing is booked until you have seen the numbers.

2

Choose your plan

Tell us you would like to pay in instalments and we will talk through whether Afterpay or humm suits your treatment better. Setting it up takes a few minutes.

3

Start treatment

Once you are approved we book you in. Repayments come out automatically, so there is nothing to remember and nothing to chase.

Payment plan FAQs

Will a payment plan affect my credit rating?

Afterpay does not require a credit check. humm is a regulated credit product, so a credit assessment is part of the application and it may appear on your credit file. If this matters to you, ask us before applying and check humm’s current terms.

Yes. We claim your health fund rebate on the spot through HICAPS first, and the payment plan covers whatever gap is left. You are only financing the out-of-pocket portion, not the full treatment cost.

At your appointment, in writing, before you leave. The quote is itemised with item numbers so you can check it against your health fund. If the total is more than you can pay at once, we can set up a plan at the same visit.

Not necessarily, but it speeds things up. If you already know you would like to pay in instalments, setting it up beforehand means you can go ahead with treatment on the day rather than rebooking.

Your agreement is with Afterpay or humm, not with us, so their terms apply. Both charge late fees for missed payments. If you are having trouble, contact them directly as early as you can.

Both providers allow early repayment. With humm, paying early means fewer monthly account fees, so it reduces what you pay overall. Check the provider’s terms for any conditions, as these can change.

The interest rate is 0%, so no interest accrues on what you borrow. However humm charges a $9.95 monthly account fee, and an establishment fee of $70 on plans above $1,000. So the plan has a cost even though there is no interest. The table above shows what that comes to on each tier.

Yes, though check first whether your child is eligible under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which we bulk bill. Many families find their child’s treatment is fully covered and no payment plan is needed.

Not sure what your treatment will cost?

Book a consultation and you will leave with a written quote the same day, plus a clear picture of the payment options that suit your situation. No obligation.

Please note: Afterpay and humm are independent third-party providers. humm is provided by Once Credit Pty Limited, Australian Credit Licence 386194. Meadowgate Dental does not provide credit and does not hold an Australian Credit Licence. All approvals, credit assessments, terms, fees and repayment arrangements are set and managed by the provider, and your agreement is with them rather than with us.

Amounts, repayment periods, deposits and fees shown on this page reflect the providers’ published terms and can change without notice. Please read the provider’s terms and conditions in full and consider whether the arrangement is right for your circumstances before applying.
